Since their formation in Tuscaloosa, AL in 2008, Gideon has defied convention, forging a distinct sound marked by refusal to settle for the ordinary. Led by founding member and drummer Jake Smelley, along with vocalist Daniel McWhorter, guitarist/vocalist Tyler Riley, and bassist Caleb DeRusha, the band continuously expanded their sonic boundaries, blending metalcore with elements of melodic hardcore and hardcore punk while maintaining a core of positivity and defiance. Their debut album "Costs" in 2011 propelled them into the metalcore scene, but subsequent releases like "Milestone" and "Calloused" showcased their evolution, leading to a deal with Equal Vision Records. Albums like "Cold" (2017) and "Out Of Control" (2019) elevated their profile. Now, with their 6th album "MORE POWER. MORE PAIN." recorded by Randy Lebouef at Graphic Nature Audio, Gideon delivers a brutally intense explosion of sound that honors their past while carving out a distinctive new space.
